For the past 40 years, Karen Power has shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ through various media in Christian communications, including using her multifaceted skills to empower speakers and authors to be the best they can be.
At age 11, she began playing drums and then bass guitar in Christian bands with styles ranging from southern gospel to contemporary Christian. Three of her songs were recorded by Christian bands in the 1980's. She always dreamed of owning her own recording studio and managing music groups. (Christian speakers were few and far between back then.) Karen has written several stories that are included in the following books: Your Spiritual Personality by Marita Littauer, Making the Blue Plate Special by Florence Littauer, Marita Littauer and Lauren Littauer Briggs, and The Authentic You by Anita C. Lee. She enjoys teaching and consulting at training events such as the Writing for Excellence Seminar, Glorieta Christian Writers Conference, North Texas Christian Writers Conference, Pitney Bowes Sales Manager and Leadership Training, and Personality Principles Advanced Workshop. Since 1994, Karen has combined her professional and personal interests to work in various capacities with Christian communicators, churches, ministries, and other organizations. She has served as a concert promoter, Christian speaker, women's event planner, course developer and facilitator, coach, consultant, virtual assistant, publicist, and booking agent. In 2004, she became the Speaker Services Manager for an international speaking agency. With decades of experience in various areas of professional ministry, business, marketing, and Christian communication, Karen finally realized one of her lifelong dreams in 2007 when she launched her own full-service agency … Christian Speakers Services.  |

A personal note from Karen ... from the dream to the manifest destiny
Saddleback Mountain, Monterrey, Mexico
I have always related with people in the Bible like Joseph, David, and Timothy, who while they were young knew the dream and direction for their life. However, the path to get to their destiny was not quick, easy, straight, or clear at times. They knew delays and discouragement. Most importantly, they knew how to hold on to God's promise against all odds.
I was raised in a Christian home. At 9 years old, I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. A couple of years later, my journey into the Christian communication arena began. I grew up loving the hymns sung in church and in 1970, I attended my first gospel music concert. I was immediately hooked and shortly afterwards started playing drums in a gospel band with my family and some of our church friends.
While on a family vacation to Monterrey, Mexico visiting missionaries, I stood looking at Saddleback Mountain in the distance and told God how I wanted to be a missionary through music to the United States. Later, at age 16, as I continued in gospel music, I knew somehow I wanted to own a recording studio and manage gospel bands (Christian women speakers were few and far between in 1976.)
Throughout my life, I held onto that dream and worked in many areas directly related to developing my destiny and some that seemed to wander out into the desert (literally, as I lived in Albuquerque, NM for 3 years). Yet, when God births a dream in our heart and equips us to fulfill the passion and purpose He's ignited in us, though the vision may tarry ... God's promises will come to pass! After 30 years of dream, I was empowered to step into the manifestation of my dream and destiny. Since January 2007, I have owned and operated a full-service Christian agency ... Christian Speakers Services.
I have learned that every job, all the training, and every situation -- good, bad, ugly, or indifferent -- was needed to equip me for the roles and tasks that I get to do today. With 40 years in the Christian communication arena, I am thankful for the many people who have encouraged and given me opportunities to learn from the best. I've seen amazing changes in technology. I've also learned how to work with various situations and people under the best and worst of circumstances. I bring a strong business background from having worked in the financial industry for 17 years, and with a Fortune 300 company, and a top 100 training organization.
It is my joy to help others along their journey, partnering with them as needed, and helping spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the world and throughout cyberspace to those who need to hear it.
